Last weekend my parents brought us some freshly picked morel mushrooms when they came to visit.
I’m sure there are many ways to prepare morels, but what better way than frying them in butter could there be? Haha!
That’s exactly what we did the first night. The only difference is that instead of using off the shelf batter like Drake’s mix we used some of my spent grain flour.
Tonight we made the rest of them. This time though I thought we could make them healthier by not frying them in butter. We tried just baking them.
That was a mistake. They turned out ok, but nowhere near as good as with the butter.
I think next time we will just stick with frying them.
