Memorial Day IPA Part 1

I don’t really know what to say about today. To me Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the many men and women of our armed forces that allow us to do the things we enjoy doing on this day off.

After you are set up, cleaned up, and mashing there isn’t a lot to do for an hour and a half. The brewing process allows plenty of down time for reflection.

Today I’m set up under the front porch. There is a pretty good chance of thunderstorms and I wanted to avoid the fallout of helicopters from our maple trees on the back porch.

Today was supposed to be a simultaneous double brew day,  but some difficulties with my new burner and the other kettle have made me change my plans.

It’s been a rough start to the day,  hopefully that means all the issues are out of the way and the rest of the day will be smooth sailing. Yeah,  right…
